At Premium Finance Partners, we pride ourselves on having a team of dedicated, passionate, and talented individuals. Today, we want to introduce you to one of the essential members of our family - the one who has been with us since our humble beginnings in 2019. Meet the incredible force behind our daily operations - Patricia Maduna (“Patricia” or “P”)
Her Origin Story
Born on a rainy Sunday morning on February 24th, 1985, in the small town of Wolmaransstad along the N12 Treasure Route, she was the much-anticipated youngest addition to the Motsoenyane family. After spending her childhood years in Wolmaransstad, it was time for Patricia to embark on her career journey.
In 2003, during her Matric year, Patricia was unsure about her future. Her parents, however, were certain that she would pursue tertiary education. They gave her the freedom to choose her path, and she gravitated towards the financial industry due to her interest in Maths and Accounting. This led her to study for a National Diploma in Banking at the University of Johannesburg.
Professional Journey
Patricia began her professional career as a Personal Loans Consultant at an Old Mutual Bank branch in 2007, where she also met her future husband. They now share their lives with their three beautiful children. Patricia's career path then led her to Media24, followed by Insure Group Managers.
In 2019, she decided to take a leap of faith and joined Premium Finance Partners, which was then a brand-new company with only one employee. Despite the initial challenges, the company grew exponentially in just a few months, and Patricia was a significant part of that growth.
A Typical Day at Work
P’s typical workday begins between 8 and 9 am. Depending on the day, she juggles between handling client queries, managing insurer payments, and overseeing premium collection. The team holds meetings every Monday and Thursday to plan and execute their tasks for the week.
What P loves most about working at Premium Finance Partners is "the mutual respect among the team and the understanding that everyone has a vital role to play. The company culture allows her to balance her work responsibilities with her role as a mother, giving her the flexibility to pick up her kids from school and finish her tasks afterwards."
Memorable Moments and Future Goals
One of her favourite memories at Premium Finance Partners was participating in the Warrior Race. "The team pulled together, carrying each other through the 5km challenge. This spirit of camaraderie extends beyond work-related activities, and the team regularly meets for informal lunches or breakfasts."
Currently, P is studying towards a BCom Degree in Financial Management. She looks forward to the day she will graduate, adding another feather to her cap.
Life Beyond Work
Outside work, P loves spending time with her family - be it cooking for them or visiting the park with her 2-year-old who loves the outdoors. She enjoys road trips to Durban or North West to visit her extended family.
While she hasn't thought much about travelling, "the idea of exploring Italy, with its delicious food and stunning architecture, intrigues her."
One thing people may not know about P is that "she's not fond of taking selfies or videos."Also, she admits to being an overthinker, often caught talking to herself!
Stay tuned to meet more of our incredible team members in the future, and join us in appreciating the hard work and dedication that P brings to Premium Finance Partners every day.
